Basically, the way it works is that you have three protein packs, 5-7 ounces of meat, 4 cups of vegetables and some supplements each day usually broken up into four meals: breakfast is an IP pack and some supplements; lunch is an IP pack and 2 cups of vegetables; dinner is 5-7 ounces of meat depending on the type, 2 cups of vegetables and some supplements; and snack is an IP pack.

You never feel hungry and you feel great every day with all the nutrients you're consuming and without the carb highs and lows. You won't get the 2:00 slump after a carb-loaded lunch. You can drink coffee and tea, but diet sodas and drinks with citric acid are frowned upon. Not only is IP concentrating on your carb and protein levels, but also your body's alkalinity/pH levels. Heavy exercise is also frowned upon, especially during the first few weeks in order for your body to protect your muscles via protein and for your body to avoid starvation mode and try to hold on to whatever it can.
